The Bio Base Climate Alliance (BBCA) is an initiative to propel climate action in the Republic of Moldova through strategic collaboration between private industry, public institutions, and civil society. Our mission is to design and implement fundable climate adaptation and mitigation projects that address Moldova’s most urgent environmental and social challenges.

Moldova faces increasing climate risk: droughts, floods, energy dependency, and the degradation of soil, water, and ecosystems. While businesses, municipalities, NGOs and people in general are aware of these issues, no local platform with adequate funding and expertise exists to facilitate coordinated climate solutions, share knowledge, or attract funding at scale. This results in; (i) Fragmented efforts, (ii) Missed funding opportunities, and (iii) Delayed action on adaptation and mitigation.

We envision a future where Moldova’s communities and industries are climate-resilient, sustainable, and actively engaged in building a just green transition. In our view, the climate change challenges Republic of Moldova faces today can be turned into an advantage in just a few years, eventually making the country a model for green energy transition and a leader in Europe in this respected field.

Our mission is to build and support a permanent platform for multi-stakeholder collaboration, where environmentally responsible companies, institutions, and agencies can co-develop climate projects and jointly secure funding for local implementation. The organisation of conferences, meetings, action groups, workshops and a business incubator can help coordinate efforts to battle climate change. In turn these efforts can help stakeholders in Moldova unite in their request for non-traditional funding and grants.
